IN PRODUCTION: The Complete Guide for Building Your Own Tree House: For Parents, and Adults Who are Kids at Heart-With Companion CD-ROM

I am currently working on this 8.5" x 11", 240-page book. It is a wonderful, informative guide. One of the best features is the 92-page color insert which has numerous photos of actual tree houses and 15 detailed treehouse plans, complete with illustrations. Here is a detailed description of the book:

Whether you are building a tree house for your child or for yourself, The Complete Guide to Building Your Own Tree House will provide you with dozens of helpful tips, tricks, and suggestions from people who have already undertaken this endeavor. With the help of this book, your treetop hideaway will quickly become a reality.

You will learn about waterproofing, safety precautions, and building regulations and restrictions. You will be provided with design, building, and decorating tips, as well as non-technical drawings to aid you in the building process. You will learn about supports, windows, skylights, and tree house designs, such as shingled, two trees and two posts, and perch. Also included is an additional section on all the accessories you can add on to your house, like a ladder hoist, a fireman’s pole, swings, a zip line, a pulley and basket, a crow’s nest, a rope bridge, slides, and a trap door.

AT PRESS: Light, Shadow & Skin Tone: The Complete Guide to Shooting Black & White Glamour Photography Both Digitally and on Film
I recently collaborated with the wonderful photographer Bill Lemon on his new book for Atlantic Publishing. It is currently at press. Here is a description of the book:

In Light, Shadow, & Skin Tone, Bill Lemon explores the art of black and white glamour photography. Lemon demonstrates his own unique, artistic style in both studio and outdoor settings. The book explains, image by image, how each photo was created. Lemon teaches by example, dissecting his own work in great detail with hints and tips on location, settings, models, lighting, and glamour photography techniques. Lemon also discusses the equipment used, the type of light, fill flash, and exposures. He covers the time of day that produces the best image and how to use natural light to your advantage. With almost 100 of Lemon’s distinct images, each with an explanation of what makes the image work, this book is a valuable reference for any photographer.

There is also a bonus section, which covers Lemon’s post-production process for digital photography. This section comes with complete step-by-step instructions for effectively converting color images to black and white — while maintaining depth, detail, and clarity to create a captivating image.

The step-by-step, image-by-image information contained in this book is highly enjoyable, whether you are interested in learning the process or simply want to gaze at breathtaking, tasteful artwork.
